Update at 5:05 p.m.: Police say they have now charged Benitez with sexual assault on the third case, which occurred on March 19 on Aldwick Drive. His charge in that case is burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a sexual assault.

Original, 4:14 p.m.: Dallas County authorities on Wednesday released a photo of Cesar Benitez, the man arrested Tuesday in a series of recent rapes in the Lake Highlands area.

They also confirmed that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has placed a hold on Benitez, indicating that the agency may believe he is in the country illegally.

Benitez, 33, was arrested by Dallas police Tuesday and charged with sexual assault in rapes that occurred on Feb. 22 and March 15. Police said he also confessed to a third rape on March 19, but authorities are awaiting DNA evidence before they charge him. A police spokesperson said that they hope to have more information in that case by Friday.

Little information is available about Benitez. His arrest report indicates that he was a construction worker, but it?s unclear where he worked. Police have said that he lived in the Lake Highlands area at one time, but wasn?t living there at the time of his arrest.

It was also revealed Wednesday that he is older than police originally believed. Police said on Tuesday that he was 30, not 33.
