REGENSBURG, Germany (AP) - Canada qualified for next year's World Baseball Classic, routing Germany 11-1 Monday in their qualifying final.

Chris Robinson homered in the first and Adam Loewen in the second as the visitors built a 7-0 lead.

Jimmy Van Ostrand homered in the fourth, and Germany's Aaron Altherr connected in the fifth to cut the host's deficit to 8-1.

The game ended in the eighth because of the rout rule.

Canada had beaten Germany 16-7 Saturday, two days after an 11-1 rout of Britain. The Czech Republic was eliminated early in the group.
